VAT RELIEF

VAT Exemption and VAT Relief are two phrases you may have heard a lot when looking at mobility products.

Most of our products have two prices - one with and one without VAT. VAT Relief is available on products specially designed for use by those with a long term medical condition or illness in a personal or domestic setting.

We hope that this guide will offer some explanation of who and when you can claim VAT Relief as well as the process of how to claim VAT Relief at the time of ordering online and in store.

Why Two Prices?

Most of the products on this website have two prices - this means that this product qualifies for VAT relief and can be purchased without paying the VAT.

This status is given to products which are specifically designed to be used to relieve the symptoms of a chronic illness or disability.

Where a single price is shown, the product does not qualify for VAT relief and the price includes VAT.

Am I Eligible?

Where two prices are shown for a product, the lower price (which excludes VAT) is available to those who are chronically sick, disabled or terminally ill. Chronically sick means that you have an illness that is likely to last a long time (such as arthritis, angina, etc). Disabled means substantially and permanently handicapped by illness or injury.

You do not have to be registered disabled to claim relief from VAT, but the nature of your illness or disablement must be specified in your declaration.

Unfortunately you do not qualify if you are elderly but able-bodied or if you are only temporarily disabled or injured.

How do I claim?

Claiming VAT relief is simple and quick. There are no assessments and you do not need to provide medical proof of any disability or condition. You simply need to fill in a quick form either online, in person or through the post.

Online

You will be asked whether you wish to claim relief from VAT during the checkout process. If you do wish to claim you will just need to state the illness or medical condition you are suffering from and tick to confirm that you wish to claim exemption and that the information you have provided is correct. It's that easy!

In Store

When buying an item in store it is just as easy to claim VAT relief as it is online. Our friendly staff will provide you with a simple form to fill out where you simply need to list your condition, name, address and provide a signature. It takes under a minute to fill out and can help save you a lot of money.

By Phone

If you would like to place your order by telephone and wish to claim VAT relief, we will have to charge you the VAT initially and then refund it to you once we have received a signed declaration. Once we receive your telephone order, we will send your goods to you along with a VAT declaration form for you to sign and send back to us using the Freepost address provided. Once we have received your signed declaration we will refund you the VAT difference to the same card you paid with.

We are required to retain a copy of your declaration and it may be passed to HM Customs & Excise as evidence of your eligibility. Your data is stored securely and will never be used for any marketing purposes or given to any 3rd parties. If you are in any doubt whether you qualify for VAT relief, please click here to email our customer services or call 01444 253 300. Details / Rehasense PAWS City 12/14 Wheelchair Add On

Let PAWS or Power Assisted Wheelchair System be a part of your everyday mobility.

Get to work with ease and take care of the shopping on the way home.  Seize your daily opportunities with confidence.  Get busy with PAWS!  PAWS City may be ordered with either a 12” or 14” front wheel and is designed primarily for city travelling.  Choose 12” for the smoother roads or 14” if you expect a few more bumps.  With a 1m turning circle, it is great indoors as well.  It likes hard ground and even surfaces, but can also cope with uneven pavement and curbs.

CLAMPING  It is very easy to connect the PAWS to the wheelchair, with two innovative choices of Easy Clamps – Manual or Automatic.  Another unique feature of the PAWS is that you do not need any wheelchair modifications or add-ons to connect both. After using PAWS, your wheelchair remains as it is.  All you add is PAWS!

LIFTING
When manual lifting, simply push the handle bars away from the body to lift the front of the wheelchair.  When choosing Auto Lift, you don’t need to use upper body strength to connect PAWS with the wheelchair.  Automatic Easy Clamp and Auto Lift will automatically connect you to driving position.  PAWS – it’s the clever way to go.

HANDLEBARS  Two handlebar set-ups allows many to control PAWS.  Choose best one for your purposes – Standard Controls or Tetra Controls. There are also multiple of possibilities to set up handlebar position to make the best fit for you.

CONTROLS  Standard there are 2 forward speed modes* with a further 3 available as a special order**. Additional modes are Walk Mode, Cruise Mode, Traction Mode and Reverse. (*maximum speed is 15 km/h; **speed up to 28 or 32 km/h is only for special orders for qualified users). Please note: PAWS may be delivered differently in your country to meet local regulations.

WHEELS  Each model has its own type of wheel – which differ in size and purpose.  PAWS City 12”/14” is good for the streets or even indoors with its short wheelbase and tight turning circle

BRAKES  Braking is by the front disc brake, controlled by two brake levers mounted on the handlebars. The brakes can be operated by one had or both, if heavy braking is needed.

LIGHTING  A powerful, multifunction headlamp has an automatic option – the lights come on automatically in the evening or in tunnels.  Other manual adjustments are possible.

WATERPROOF PAWS  has an IP54 waterproof rating so is not afraid of rain, puddles and moisture. Go on, get PAWS out!

DISPLAY  The Driver Display shows important driving data like speed, distance, time, power, driving mode and other mode settings.  Brightness is automatically adaptive to the amount of ambient light.  The Display is centrally mounted on the handlebars and may be rotated to the best position.

BATTERY  For a full charge, the Lithium Ion battery only needs up to 5 hours of charging. On a full charge you can reach a range of up to 40 km (depending on terrain, driver weight and model chosen). An IATA compliant ”flying” battery is also available for when you take your PAWS on a flight. Battery changes are easy and quick, so when it’s running low, you can swap for a full one and PAWS keeps going, and going...

UNIVERSAL  The range of adjustment in the clamping system allows a wide range of folding and rigid frame chairs to be fitted.  Quick Release clamps make it easy to disassemble for easier handling during transport.  It’s how PAWS is done. PAWS wins again!
