VAT RELIEF

VAT Exemption and VAT Relief are two phrases you may have heard a lot when looking at mobility products.

Most of our products have two prices - one with and one without VAT. VAT Relief is available on products specially designed for use by those with a long term medical condition or illness in a personal or domestic setting.

We hope that this guide will offer some explanation of who and when you can claim VAT Relief as well as the process of how to claim VAT Relief at the time of ordering online and in store.

Why Two Prices?

Most of the products on this website have two prices - this means that this product qualifies for VAT relief and can be purchased without paying the VAT.

This status is given to products which are specifically designed to be used to relieve the symptoms of a chronic illness or disability.

Where a single price is shown, the product does not qualify for VAT relief and the price includes VAT.

Am I Eligible?

Where two prices are shown for a product, the lower price (which excludes VAT) is available to those who are chronically sick, disabled or terminally ill. Chronically sick means that you have an illness that is likely to last a long time (such as arthritis, angina, etc). Disabled means substantially and permanently handicapped by illness or injury.

You do not have to be registered disabled to claim relief from VAT, but the nature of your illness or disablement must be specified in your declaration.

Unfortunately you do not qualify if you are elderly but able-bodied or if you are only temporarily disabled or injured.

How do I claim?

Claiming VAT relief is simple and quick. There are no assessments and you do not need to provide medical proof of any disability or condition. You simply need to fill in a quick form either online, in person or through the post.

Online

You will be asked whether you wish to claim relief from VAT during the checkout process. If you do wish to claim you will just need to state the illness or medical condition you are suffering from and tick to confirm that you wish to claim exemption and that the information you have provided is correct. It's that easy!

In Store

When buying an item in store it is just as easy to claim VAT relief as it is online. Our friendly staff will provide you with a simple form to fill out where you simply need to list your condition, name, address and provide a signature. It takes under a minute to fill out and can help save you a lot of money.

By Phone

If you would like to place your order by telephone and wish to claim VAT relief, we will have to charge you the VAT initially and then refund it to you once we have received a signed declaration. Once we receive your telephone order, we will send your goods to you along with a VAT declaration form for you to sign and send back to us using the Freepost address provided. Once we have received your signed declaration we will refund you the VAT difference to the same card you paid with.

Details / 25 X 1 (25-559) Omobic Speedlite Tyre

The Omobic Speedlite 25 x 1 (25-559) is a premium lightweight pneumatic wheelchair tyre engineered for active users seeking maximum rolling efficiency, reduced push effort and dependable puncture resistance in everyday use.

Built around the highly popular 559 rear wheel platform, this tyre delivers a smooth fast-rolling ride with excellent chair responsiveness, making it ideal for daily mobility, commuting and performance-focused active wheelchair setups. The narrow profile and low-resistance tread help maintain momentum with less energy loss, while the supple carcass construction improves comfort and handling over varied indoor and outdoor surfaces.

For increased reliability, the Speedlite incorporates Omobic’s PTR puncture protection belt beneath the tread, helping reduce the likelihood of flats without compromising ride quality. A durable 67 TPI casing, long-wearing outer rubber compound and high-pressure inflation capability of up to 110 PSI combine to create a tyre that feels light, efficient and controlled under load. Omobic also lists the Speedlite range as an easy-running all-round tyre built specifically for active wheelchair users who prioritise performance and durability.

The black non-marking finish is suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments, making the 25-559 Speedlite an excellent replacement or upgrade tyre for users wanting a faster and more responsive everyday chair.
